The community and sustainability

Local businesses are the body of our Borough and ensure that our residents have employment, products and recreation. Businesses prop up the local economy and make our town centres what they are today. They play a key role in transitioning to net-zero, a sustainable and a biodiverse borough.

Local businesses have the opportunity to transition their businesses to more efficient energy use, sustainable procurement and provide sustainable products to save money and contribute to a better future.

Without businesses in this movement, residents wouldn't have sustainable products, the energy and waste systems would be inefficient and we wouldn't be able to support a biodiverse borough.

To ensure that local businesses are aware of the problems we face today we have developed our webpages to include more information about climate change and sustainability which you may have already seen.
