Completed nomination forms must be hand-delivered to the Returning Officer at Castle House, Barracks Road, Newcastle, ST5 1BL, between 10am and 4pm, and before 4pm on Friday, 7 June.

Candidates can call in advance on 01782 742249 to book an appointment to deliver their papers and have them informally checked before submission.

There are 44 seats on the authority. Including the two vacancies, the current position is that the Conservatives have 23 seats and Labour 18, plus one independent.
