Wolstanton Marsh update
David Hutchison, Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council’s Cabinet member for Sustainable Environment, said:
“Following a successful application for a court order, a large group of travellers has now left Wolstanton Marsh.
“We understand residents’ concerns when this happens and I think the departure of this group within 48 hours of the first vehicles arriving shows the efficiency of the system we have in place for dealing with these unauthorised camps.
“I’d like to thank Staffordshire Police for their support in this matter and council officers for clearing up the site afterwards.”
