An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and hard-working individual to join Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council's Streetscene team. The team provides essential operational services for the Council in relation to street cleansing, streetside bin servicing, grass cutting, parks management, and environmental management of our land-holdings, responsive service requests and tree management operations.
The post is required for the effective and efficient service delivery of our functions with a requirement, in addition to the above functions, to undertake tree work activities, regularly working at heights exceeding 20 metres within a skilled team.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their practical experience of working within the Arboriculture sector, undertaking tree surgery work, in addition to possessing and exhibiting a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, a good work ethic and willingness to work across all areas of Streetscene activities and will hold level 3 qualifications in tree operations.
The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of Streetscene operational activity and an excellent understanding and practical application of health and safety in relation to Streetscene work activities and an appetite and aptitude for increased knowledge and positive assessment in relation to operating arboriculture equipment and a MEWP.
The post holder is required to hold a HGV2 licence.
