The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) is a statutory document explaining to the local community how the council will involve them in the preparation of planning policy documents and major planning applications.
The previous SCI (see download at the bottom of this page), which was adopted in August 2006, has now become out of date. To address this Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council and Stoke-on-Trent City Council have recently adopted a new Joint SCI, which sets out how both councils will involve the public in plan-making and determining planning applications.
