How to pay Council Tax
The easiest way to pay your Council Tax is by direct debit. You simply complete an instruction for your bank or building society to pay your Council Tax when it is requested each month.
You save time by not having to queue to make payment in person and also money if you would otherwise pay by sending a cheque through the post.
The Council is able to handle your payment more efficiently and you are safeguarded in the agreement which the Council has with the banks and building societies.
If a payment is made against your instructions for any reason, the Council must immediately reimburse your bank or building society.
If you wish to pay by direct debit and you have a current account with your bank or an appropriate building society account, please telephone 01782 715500, use the Citizen Access link or download and complete the Council Tax direct debit form and return it to:
