General car parking information
This section contains information on the various car parks we own within the borough. You can view the locations of our car parks on our interactive map:
How to pay for parking
We operate traditional pay and display on most of the car parks where you can pay with cash or by phone. Most of our car parks also accept card and contactless payments. Read more about our payment options.
Bank holiday parking
Please note: the hourly rate for each car park covers the whole day's parking on a bank holiday. This applies to the following car parks:
- Black Friars
- Cherry Orchard
- Corporation Street
- Goose Street
- Hassell Street
- King Street
- Midway
- Ryecroft
- School Street
- Silverdale Road
- Windsor Street
Motorcycles
Motorcycles can park for free in any car park space on a council car park. In addition there is a motorcycle space on Corporation Street, and two spaces, with anchor points at Windsor Street car park.
Electric vehicle charging points
We are adding electric vehicle charging points to a number of our car parks. In the first phase they will be added to car parks at:
- Goose Street, Newcastle town centre
- King Street, Newcastle town centre
- Heathcote Street, Kidsgrove
- The Parade, Silverdale
We will provide more details once these are operational.
